visual arts
At Knoxville Christian, we offer a variety of visual arts courses that will provide our students with an exceptional artistic experience. Our goal is to develop a firm foundation for students in Art History, concepts, techniques, and production.
The Knoxville Christian visual arts program encourages and allows our artists to express themselves through processes such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and multimedia techniques.
Elementary Visual Arts
Our Preschool and Elementary Art Program is designed to build concepts, skills, knowledge, and aesthetic awareness. Our curriculum builds observation skills and encourages exploration of imagination. We are dedicated to creating an artistic foundation that will prepare students for future artistic educational experiences.
Middle School Visual Arts
Our middle school visual arts program is a semester course study, grades 6-8, where students will produce artwork in two and three-dimensional forms while relating to the elements and principles of art. Students will study art techniques, art history, color theory, painting, multimedia projects, and more. Knoxville Christian’s middle school art program serves as a building block to prepare students for future art education experiences.
High School Digital Photography
Knoxville Christian’s digital photography students will explore the technical, artistic, and commercial aspects of photography. They will become familiar with a variety of photography skills and concepts that will aid in creating successful images for the KCS Yearbook.
High School Yearbook
At KCS, our yearbook students are historians, journalists, and artists putting together a photojournalistic book that will be on shelves for many years to come. Our yearbook staff members learn to use the Balfour Publishing Company’s online studio software to create a high quality yearbook. These high school students practice a variety of techniques, such as, digital photography, photojournalism, effective sales and promotional skills, and teamwork.
