5 Reasons Why Your Child Belongs at Knoxville Christian School

Innovative Curriculum and Professional Development.  An Innovative curriculum that incorporates not only state-of-the-art standards but a Biblical worldview and the use of best teaching practices to foster academic growth and success in our students.  Our teaching environment is one where students feel free and are encouraged to ask questions to promote learning.  Continued professional development for our fully licensed teachers; who are knowledgeable in their content area and best practices, classroom management, and student engagement.

School Safety.  The safety and security of all students, faculty/staff members, and guests on our campus is our number one priority.  This is taken seriously at all times and measures have been taken to plan, prepare for, and mitigate both natural and man-made disasters and problems.  Our campus employs an armed security guard; and has bullet-resistant glass film, controlled entry points and policies in place to keep the community safe.  We have fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, and inspections to support the safety of our students and comply with applicable standards.

Selfless Behaviors.  Teachers model selfless service and actions to students.  Students are taught these behaviors and their importance in all grades.  Chapel and Bible classes are vessels used to teach the Bible and social-emotional learning.  As students enter Middle and High School, opportunities to serve their local community and give back to others are presented every month.  This community service provides our students with opportunities to express their faith and share God’s word by showing positive action and meeting community needs.  KCS cultivates a climate that encourages faith, prayer, and serving others before self as the Bible illustrates in the gospel of Mark 12:30-31.

Extracurricular Activities.  Knoxville Christian School understands the importance of these activities in the growth and development of our students.  We other athletic teams, musical enrichment, field trips, and other activities and events to enrich the school life experience.  The benefits of participating in these activities include mental and physical health, and promote self-esteem and a spirit of teamwork.

Family and Community Partnerships.  These relationships are mutually beneficial and enhance the abilities of our school community.  Partnerships between the school and parents are critical to student success in the areas of character development, and academic achievement.  Open lines of communication are imperative and highly encouraged between family and school.  Other community stakeholders assist the school in service opportunities, support, and safety.
