Mrs. Laura Bronkala leads the Music program at KCS! Grades PreK3-5th learn the fundamentals about listening to, learning about, and performing music in a group setting. Whether it’s creating steady beat with jingle bells, recognizing pitches with boomwhackers, relating size to highness or lowness of pitch with Orff instruments or just singing hispanic melodies with maracas, students are acquiring an enriching education in the musical arts. All students are able to participate in seasonal performances such as the Veterans Day Program, Christmas Program, and possible Spring Programs as well.
Knights Band
KCS has an exciting NEW band program where students have the opportunity to participate in making music through many different ways including basketball games, and Christmas and Spring concerts.
Music education is a vital aspect of developing our youth into functioning members of society, and it is best taught when combined with teaching and worshiping God. Research has found that studying music has positive effects on mental performance and critical thinking skills. Band, therefore, is another way KCS can help parents promote success and growth in their students.
The mission of KCS’s band program is to assist individual students in sharing Christ through the study and performance of music. The discipline and dedication needed for instrumental study foster the life skill of cooperative learning, and aid students to become functioning members of society.
Mrs. Bronkala looks forward to growing the Knoxville Christian School Band Program into an essential and permanent part of the KCS community. Go Knights!
